I left DNA behind in Spain
skin was shed after dousing
with Factor 60
Balcony sat towels set to dry
a cat stared through railings
while indoors a makeshift
kettle boiled master craftsmen
at work realizing a
long dead architect’s dream
Numbers randomized a hidden code
dig the guidebooks out!
towers of scaffold encased
I am reminded of a job unfinished
West Cliff Drive
this swell rolls in tune with mood
a smell of chowder in the cafe
of escape being away from home
decking solid book-ended by beauty
Santa Cruz you are very near!
a lone surfer jumps into the sea from rocks
You Know What
I see your streets with reflection
Lancashire's border fields with sheep
this distance will be gapped with shared
airspace
Before an existence to seek in thrift stores
sat huddled awaiting cold rain
the coats of recollection alongside Corso's
steps
