Someone I once knew

You tore into me
Left hunks of your
Mad hours
And poisoned clouds
Deep inside me
I waited for release
It came like oceans
In sleep we moved
Fitfully, searching
For missing pieces
Found in one another

Today I heard your name
Whispered from a distance
Of mountains and lifetimes
No longer do you
Find me, waiting
In my place of wet
Longing, where
Tears turn to honey,

We are transformed
You are light
As a half-dreamt memory
You’re someone
Someone I once knew
