The Lulling Machine [ as Persephone]

a squint of flame each light & bright
blade--the breadth of closeness & alignment
in the night

[somehow -- as a squib in the house of twigs --
I've whispered away my own nakedness]
now neither boom
nor destruction resonate

*
-- dear eye
your sex cannot flicker
as fiercely as candelabrum

must it be imperfect? mistaken for farce?
but my care is not with stillborn sparks
nor gentle lamplight

*

the roads of lichen I have doused --
those damp ivy devices

as slow sluggish eyelids
[like dawn] begin to unfurl

----- rise fall slow fast

there are no birds to mimic the sounds of sleep
no lifting curtains to echo: faster --- & yet
I've sung for colluvia mixed into clay banks

[the smallest hymnody] with slow fires
worn earthen & plain

Images of You

…between willing knees an oak sprouts wondrous sap--in amber
spring for tongue tapped-out--an acorn borne inside cupule;
that tenderness of new womb

Methodology (of Discourse)No. 2

I: Response to Naught:

the nocturnal rallentando of minds unfurled; entangled a vesper
bell; shell enshrouded by dark & longing, rankle diaphragm;
miscreant

& raw

::a moon is scanned through the eye of the loon,
crux of night‘s mute ray-- not so didactic nor outright

twisted & -un

II: Response to Thought:

cogito ergo sum:

("I" think) enigmatic what mist unraveled before it;
proof of undone, overrun its course
the rippled effect & rigorous pull of lever,

threads unselvedged; a quiver: the conveyor
belt’s magnum opus

conducting
the semidetached
& -un--the mind

thus churning the mental grind;
a discordant "I", unfettered

Tendrilled Aria

with Douglas A. Just

chromium thrust lustrous spittle

spilled upon her belly, marked

by beads of wet, appliquéd

in tuber rooted chasm recede

as calm, parting knead & heave

soft sans bush

maxillofacial thrust

in ocular gazed

crush a plush morning, filtered through beams of light,

defines its reigns upon the face of which it falls

& is sharpened, tongued through glass

lumens of twin consciousness

beaconed & beckoned

euphoric

Vortices
for Mark Lamoureux

figurines of ghosts, naevus on swollen areolae; two black suns;

two narrow-eyed visages --selfsame

on two hardened frames;

a mute-glisten

sometimes we are peerless before the glass

shimmer in murky opal

sometimes we erase landscapes from our eyes,

are thus enlightened

before blackened carcasses of trees--or the deep sea held against

a skeletal reef--

sometimes things seem very dark

Concupiscence

feeling removed from reality, pictures incused light's halogen body lapped,
tongue-slapped , thrashed slits of flesh; a departed realm
raw& daunted

what lithe animal the night's body---lackadaisied

between thighs, silkened glass--in eternality,
what sweet charnel of succulence glistened
& was thus expelled through labrum?
rivered & left
atremble?

what was once unabashed virgin skin--shaft
beckoned to rip & wet the slits with paraffin

plight for the night projected on stomach's
bold geography

the hum of breathy crescendos

heaved
through hidden
pink

Chasmotica
with Douglas A. Just

the gauged flesh is wrapped, a meaty coil, bone-cored
and spiral-locked. Some love is mauve and marrow,
the murk of meat mortar,
pestle; a vessel; muscle another.

Fingers locked tightly into one another;
two rusted cogs of skin greased to crease
and cinch, warmly pinching a smooth glisten.

Dilute the extruded light; a surge of thrust reduced
to imploded splatter. Acquiesce to squalor.

Brine rushes a bitter paste,
saline the sweet sweat of thrust, redux
lessened, lathe wet in the wool air.

Muscle and cinch warmly pinch the itch,
extrudes the exhaled

lightly
