Beneath the Angles

Beneath the angles fashioned by the window's
presence, as windroed stones, but for
ourselves, the makers and the made, we lay,
star-gazed astrologers, within the prismed sky,
and read the lines through their circumference
and lived like diamonds in the rough, uncut but
for the forming
hands held poised, the terra cotta fingers
ushered at the lips, trembling for the winsome
nocturn, the imprimatur on all gestures now,
moving in the trail of volitions in the night.
