20% leaving the apartment, she looks over at him.

The television is his primary focus. His eyes rest on the screen.

She says, "I want some sushi or doughnuts." He looks at her.

40% yelling at her, he looks at the door open. "I don't think I want anything.", he says gently.

"What's going to happen?", she asks. She turns to the door, 30% leaving now.

"I can't say.", he turns back to the television. She walks and sits on the sofa.

Taking his hand, 20% about to hit him. He puts an arm around her,

50% initiating intimacy.

"I left two minutes ago.", she finally says.

"I know.", he replies.

A Reserved Departure
A Poem's this

I read
I can’t imagine
nectarines, cinnamon cider,
July
to his dog
on the cedar chest
There was a tree on Sixth St.,
against the backdrop of early-winter grays, brazen.
take its course
doing these in
We kissed with our eyes
the bay and chosen, I’m guessing,
Should you decide
neath a pregnant moon,
fragmented equations,
of poetry
the yearning, the pathos,
at the wake
My nails match
the trail
doesn’t
detestable
toss it
