imagescape [ambient]
- in deafening stillness an
agonizingly warm dry hand
on my wrist [as in a] nightmare
rough darkness
unfamiliar beige wall cast
in smooth gray shadow
fear leaps from
smoldering stomach to
hollow chest
coarse stiff blanket pulled
around trembling shoulders,
a belated whisper
[constellations glow neon
green above my head]
ii. bright golden inferno, infinite
naked plastic melts
tenderly, lumps of hard
wax, multihued rivulets
trickling down
granite slabs
quickening until there are
bright boiling waterfalls
electric danger
acid of dread and terror on my
tongue
alone in this place I
watch the warm wax drip
from my
fingers
